100Th Day of School Activities

Goodbyes are an integral part of our lives. We all go through changing jobs and saying goodbye to people we have worked with and grown close to. My relationships with people are very important to me. I can remember one job. I worked for SMRT, Inc. in Portland, Maine. On my last day I managed to sob my way around 42 desks saying goodbye. These people still hold a warm place in my heart. This was my most gratifying, favorite job, other than being a mom!

Why couldn’t that work for you? Imagine this, Johnny or Jane must go to school. You wake them up, feed them, and then they calmly step into the transporter. You hand them their lunch, blow them a kiss, and with a big smile on your face, you push the button. Your child turns into a million little energy pieces before your eyes and then disappears. They are off to school, and you are on your way to a relaxing cup of coffee and a leisurely reading of the paper before you start your day. No yelling at kids to hurry up– No racing out to the car half-dressed, a piece of dry toast hanging from your mouth.

If your kids are anything like mine, they’ll need a complete sleep overhaul. The later nights mean later mornings. I usually try to start the kids going to sleep a little earlier each night, for about a week, before the first day of school. Nothing to drastic, I don’t want to throw their little bodies into shock. About 20 to 30 minutes earlier each day, until they get back to their regular school night bedtime, should do the trick.

Remember to spy (physically go through your child’s things) only if they give you reason to believe that they could be in harm’s way. If your child is willing to talk openly about what is going on in their life, then you should avoid going through their things and listen. Spying in this way should only be done as a last resort. Following your child around in an unmarked car is less meddlesome than ransacking your child’s belongings. Your child will not be too offended by this gesture, just a bit freaked out. So, it is always okay to follow your child if you suspect something is wrong.

Under privileged parents are beneficiaries of wilderness camps where they are supported with all the necessary facilities they need. Photos of the venue are widely posted on the site for you. While at the site, course details are blared to give you tips and more information about the youth facility.

As soon as he was clear of the classroom he paused once more, turning ever so slightly as he passed through the doorway. What he found surprised him, for as his eyes scanned the room in search of her, he found she sought him back. He allowed his lips to curl up in the faintest of smiles. She excited him. Her lustrous deep brown eyes made him catch his breath with an anticipation of what it would be like to have those sensual, moist lips press firmly against his. Not that that would ever happen. At least aside from his most intimate of dreams.

In high school, I was the queen of after school activities. I was a tutor, took piano lessons, served in multiple organizations, and participated heavily in the Junior Achievement company program. With this hectic schedule, I learned to carefully organize my high school homework and study time.

Despite these horrific statistics the fact remains that parents are the single most important influence on children’s decision to drink, smoke or use drugs. The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University states that, “Many Parents do not fully understand nor grasp the extent of their influence.” Most children who smoke come from a background of one or more smokers. Will your addictions cause your child/teen to be the next statistic?
